Cathay union slams offshore staff plan

Cathay Pacific Airway's plan to let non-Hong Kong based crew fly extra routes might be part of a "hidden agenda" to gradually replace Hong Kong-based flight attendants with their cheaper overseas colleagues, a local cabin crew union warned.

Trapped for six hours on plane

Passengers trapped for six hours on a Dragonair plane on the tarmac at Hong Kong airport at the height of Typhoon Vicente went through a grim ordeal as the aircraft was rocked by the blasting winds.

Some started vomiting as the plane 'shook like a roller coaster', said an attendant on the flight.

A Cathay Pacific pilot accused of sexually assaulting a woman colleague in a New York hotel on New Year's Eve will face more serious charges at the decision of a grand jury in the United States.

David Tonn, 34, was initially charged with sexual misconduct, third-degree sexual abuse and second-degree harassment.

Alleged rape of stewardess probed

Police are investigating the alleged rape of a flight stewardess by a pilot when the crew of the airline they work for were staying at a five-star hotel in Hong Kong.

The stewardess and the pilot, who are both British, were among a group of around 20 flight crew staying at the hotel in Kowloon when the incident took place in February last year after a flight from London.

7 hurt as Dragonair flight hits turbulence

Five air hostesses and two passengers were injured when a Dragonair flight from Beijing was hit by turbulence yesterday. The Civil Aviation Department said the pilot of flight KA905 requested priority landing at 11.04am. The Airbus 330 took off at 8am and was due to land in Hong Kong at 11.45am.
