Flood areas hit by disease

SERIOUS floods in China have led to the spread of epidemic diseases in a northeastern province and a drop in farm production in the country's major rice-bowls.

An official newspaper reported the diseases caused by floods that polluted drinking water in northeast Shandong province were now spreading.
