Love is in the Air

Valentine's Day celebrations highlight Bubblemania with Dr Froth (Andrew Suttar, right), who performs tricks and creates sculptures with giant soap bubbles, and Your Love on Broadcast, which allows participants to record a love message (in the Love Carriage, Open Piazza, today, 2pm-6pm) to later be broadcast on the TV wall on Valentine's Day (Wed).

Fun all froth and bubble

Remember Mr Balloon Man, Denmark's Lars Lottrup, who squeezes himself into balloons - for fun? Well forget about him because here's Dr Froth, the Bubble Man. So clever that he has a PhD, Dr Froth (pictured) uses riveting skills, witty repartee, visual comedy and bubble manipulations. Soap was never so entertaining.

Frothy fun at beer festival

BEER, beer, glorious beer. That was the frothy theme at the opening of Omni the Hong Kong's Oktoberfest, with German Consul-General Dr Wolfgang Goettelmann in attendance.

But before downing his first pint of the fin-est brew his country can offer, Dr Goettelmann first had to snip a super-long frankfurter to declare the revelry open.

Not so loud with the applause

PERHAPS it was post-holiday, midweek inertia that kept people away from the Nestle Dairy Farm Theatre when The Not So Loud Theatre Company returned to perform Sex, Thugs and Rock 'n' Roll, Part 2. If, on the other hand, it was because people thought that nothing could follow the success this company had three years ago with the brilliant Part 1, then, to a certain degree, they were right.
