OLEG Salenko's remarkable five-goal performance against Cameroon put him on six goals overall, top scorer so far. But with his side's elimination he won't have a chance to add to it. Lineker: broken right toe

FORMER England captain Gary Lineker of the Nagoya Grampus Eight will be sidelined for the rest of the season for intensive treatment of a broken right toe, a team spokesman said.

The 1986 World Cup top goal-scorer, who underwent surgery on the toe in England last December, returned to Britain yesterday en route to Chicago for the treatment.

A THIGH injury restricted Gary Lineker's Hongkong debut to just 45 minutes as his Japanese club, Nagoya Grampus Eight, beat Hongkong First Division leaders Eastern in a penalty shootout to win the Mild Seven Cup at Mongkok Stadium yesterday.

GARY-MANIA hit Hongkong yesterday when around 6,000 $100 tickets for the exhibition match between Eastern and Gary Lineker's Nagoya Grampus Eight at Mongkok on March 21 sold out within an hour at the South China Athletic Association and the Hongkong FA headquarters at Ho Man Tin. Around 2,000 $90 tickets are still available.
