Gold Peak Industries (Holdings) reported a 42.2 per cent year-on-year fall in net profit to HK$37.36 million for the year to March 31, due mainly to a HK$22.6 million exceptional loss related to the sale and revaluation of securities in a Taiwan company.

Gold Peak interim down

Battery maker Gold Peak Industries (Holdings) reported a 23.7 per cent drop in net interim profit to HK$32.2 million for the six months to September 30 over the same period last year. Turnover increased 3 per cent to HK$762 million. Earnings per share was 29.1 per cent down at 6.1 HK cents. A dividend per share of 2.5 HK cents was declared.

Temporary conversion shift

Battery maker Gold Peak Industries (Holdings) has amended the conversion terms of its HK$80 million convertible notes issued on October 31 to HK$2.20 a share from HK$2.60 for the period from Friday to February 8 next year. After that the price would be HK$2.60, the company said.

Gold Peak over-subscribed

Gold Peak Industries (Holdings) has announced that its proposed one-for-four rights issue has been over-subscribed by about 60 per cent. The company received 215 valid acceptances of the provisional allotments for a total of 92.46 million rights shares, representing about 97.4 per cent of the total number of rights shares.

GOLD Peak Industries has launched a sponsored American Depositary Receipt (ADR) programme to trade its shares in the United States.

The Bank of New York has been engaged as depositary.
