Kung fu actor arrested for assault

TVB kung fu actor Law Kwan-lam was arrested early yesterday after allegedly kissing two men and assaulting two paramedics in Wong Tai Sin. Officers and ambulancemen were called when Law, 54, was seen drunk outside Lower Wong Tai Sin Estate at 2.45am. Law reportedly punched an ambulance driver before being overpowered by another paramedic.

Fight poverty

When WONG Chun-fung was a small boy, he came down with a high fever. His mum told him to try to put up with the pain. She wasn't neglecting her son, she just didn't have enough money to pay for a visit to the doctor.

Chun-fung's story about his illness a few years ago has won a prize in the Anti-Poverty Project for Youngsters campaign.

AS A YOUN BOY growing up in the Guangdong port of Shunde in the 1970s, Wang Dechao was forced to keep his obsession with kung fu king Bruce Lee a secret. At the time, Communist authorities discouraged martial-arts fighting, viewing it as a hotbed of triad recruitment and gangland crime, while Lee's programmes and films were not screened on the mainland's state-controlled television.

Double delight for top runner

The 16th Athletics Meet of Sheng Kung Hui Lam Woo Memorial Secondary School took place at Kwai Chung Sports Ground.

Competitors put in an all-out effort for their houses.
