Seventeen-year-old Tiffany Wong Hoi-shan says: 'Art to me is a source of energy. It's the fuel that powers me through all the difficulties I face in life.'

It certainly seems to be working.

Music and movement

Belly dancing has grown in popularity around the world and, in Hong Kong, introduces aspects of Middle Eastern culture to locals through public performances and courses.

'Belly dance is a delicate, sensuous and very feminine dance form,' says Janaki Nakka, instructor and founder of Klub Raks (www.klubraks.com).

Shooting the computer won't help

In a YouTube video, an angry father is seen firing his gun repeatedly at his daughter's laptop. Tommy Jordan says he was upset by his daughter Hannah's Facebook post complaining about being forced to do housework. Jordan says he's angry she does not respect her parents and it's nonsense to ask for a reward for doing housework.

From haves to have nots

It's Thursday afternoon and Tiffany Whitney Chang is in class at the Fresh Fish Traders' School in Tai Kok Tsui. She may be surrounded by children of her own age, but they aren't really her peers. Children fail to discuss despair, says study

Children tend not to seek help when their spirits are low, a survey of 2,602 primary school pupils by the Church of United Brethren in Christ has found. Only one in four would confide in parents, teachers and social workers. Most preferred to deal with their stress alone by playing computer games and sleeping.

Spring sparkle

Spring's look is romantic and pretty, with plenty of frills and ruffles. Add some subtle glamour with Tiffany & Co's fairytale necklace (above), featuring four rose-coloured morganite briolettes. The semi-precious stones are a variety of beryl and are strung together with platinum chains, accented with diamonds in leaf and flower motifs.
