Outside observers attending Building Authority conference meetings must declare their interests, under new guidelines the Building Department has issued in the wake of the Grand Promenade saga.

Henderson Land Development plans to speed up project launches in the second half of this year after an almost eight-month absence from property sales.

An aggressive marketing campaign for Henderson Land Development's Grand Promenade in Sai Wan Ho has failed to generate significant sales, with only eight units sold since the project was relaunched.

Developer's figures trigger confusion

Henderson Land Development said yesterday it had sold nearly 900 flats in its Grand Promenade project in Sai Wan Ho, realising about $4.5 billion in proceeds.

Analysts were left bewildered by the sales figures, as the developer only last week forecast revenues of up to $9 billion if all of the more than 1,000 units in blocks 1, 3 and 5 of the development were sold.

Henderson Land Development reported strong sales at its Grand Promenade development yesterday, boosting prices in the secondary market and prompting industry watchers to revise their outlook.

Sales started at 1pm, with hundreds of property agents swarming the office at the Sai Wan Ho project with their clients.
