Hands on approach

Lulu Guinness is certainly not a new player in the industry - she established her label in 1989 and fans include Helena Bonham-Carter, Dita von Teese and Claudia Schiffer - but 23 years later, her designs are still iconic.

Lulu Guinness mixes business and pleasure at British Consulate gig

British accessories designer Lulu Guinness has dressed the likes of singer Katy Perry and actresses Sienna Miller and Helena Bonham Carter, but her funky lip clutches are too cool for the Duchess of Cambridge.

'The thing about Kate Middleton is that she likes things very plain, and she would never carry a handbag if you can tell where it comes from,' Guinness said.

The vibe: Hong Kong is not short of Irish bars, thanks to two large chains and a host of independent Irish-themed pubs. Although many do their best to look Irish, the owners of Kila have taken a different approach - they've done their best to actually feel Irish.

Guinness giveaway for anniversary

Is beer to men what shoes are to women? Maybe. Let's see what the crowd is like at McSorley's pub in SoHo this Friday evening. If it's anything like a Christian Louboutin final sale, a lot of blokes will be leaving work early and blocking Mid-Levels traffic.

Luck of the Irish for Guinness drinking game

There will have been no shortage of drinking games played by thirsty fans by the time the weekend is out.

But one of the safer and saner options at the Sevens is the Guinness version, which basically means you can drink the official beer for free.

All you have to do is name the first try-scorer in each game - after it has been scored!

Did you hear the one about the genie who appeared before an Irishman and gave him two wishes?

For his first wish the Irishman asked for a refilling bottle of Guinness. The bottle appeared and after he drank the contents it immediately filled again.

Guinness anyone ... please

Jumbo screens may flash proposals, but people don't come to the sevens to ask the Guinness girls for marriage. Phone numbers, sure.
