Learn Pilates HK$15 Rating 10/10

Cool, splashy dragon boat season has finished and running in this heat is quite repulsive, so Pilates offers a cool summer option.

These mates go the distance

When Dan Parr and Rowley Aird banter, it is difficult to tell at times whether they like each other. But while each may enjoy a laugh at the other's expense, it is clear the pair have a tight friendship.

It's a bond forged by a shared passion for trail running.

Shave the best for last

We're home. Finally. In the past six months, myself and my cameraman Leon McCarron have walked 5,000 kilometres from Mongolia to Hong Kong.

Last Saturday, we arrived at my home in Mui Wo, joined by my wife Christine and friends who walked the last seven kilometres with us.

One of the real privileges of journeying through less travelled parts of the world is the extraordinary hospitality that one encounters.

EveryTrail Free Rating 9/10

This was a happy find. Sitting on a ferry, heading out to Lamma for a hike around the back of Sok Kwu Wan, I did a belated web search to get an idea of how long the walk might take, and up came details of a hike that had been posted through this app.

Snappy titles make it pure and simple to work it out

Men's Health Workouts Lite Free Rating 10/10

Men's Health magazine is a riveting read, even for a woman. The titles alone - 'Get in shape and lose that belly' and 'Are you tough enough for this workout?' - are fascinating. The tone of the app is equally sensational, with a choice of five workouts, such as 'Build New Muscle, Fast', or the 'Spartacus Workout'.

How to make running a walkover

Jeff Galloway's Ultimate 10k US$2.99 Rating 10/10

Entering the 10-kilometre Unicef Charity Run 2011 seemed a fine thing to do after a glass or two of wine with friends. After all, thanks to the C25k and Runmeter apps, I am now capable of running a reasonable five kilometres when the wind is in the right direction.
