Inquiry hopes to clear up Fairview home-owners' row

AN urgent inquiry has been launched by the Government after it was revealed planning wrangles could prevent 3,000 home-owners in the Fairview Park development in Yuen Long from selling their houses.

'We want to be thorough and at the same time quick in our investigation,' Buildings Department director Helen Yu Lai Ching-ping said yesterday.

ANGRY roof dwellers yelled protests at the home of Buildings Department director Helen Yu Lai Ching-pin last night.

About 50 protesters, who have been homeless since their rooftop homes at Tsuen Wan were demolished in December, turned their ire on Mrs Yu's Crescent Garden apartment in Ho Man Tin Road.
