Luckily, the US expatriate is petite and can move easily in and out of the tiny space. It's equipped with an industrial-looking contraption of hanging rods, a bookshelf turned into clothing shelves and a dresser.

The metro

Hong Kong may be officially out of recession, but some things have changed for good. People aren't spending as easily, and long gone are the flashy watches, cars and holiday homes. Similarly, the days of wearing a double-breasted suit, the uniform of Wall Street and long a symbol of power, greed and megalomania, is the fashion equivalent of schadenfreude.

Rad Hourani

Who started it? Born in Jordan and raised in Montreal, Canada, Rad Hourani enjoyed fashion at a young age, visiting a dressmaker every week with his mother. He entered the fashion business as a model scout and then became a stylist. In 2005, at the age of 22, Hourani relocated to Paris, France, where he launched his eponymous label.
