Entry is by programme on sale at the door for $80 and proceeds go to the Hong Kong Friends of Romania.

Twice blessed

AT one moment during Joshua Bell's self-composed cadenza in the Brahms Violin Concerto, the 26-year-old artist reached a climax of dazzling intensity. He had surveyed all the themes of the first movement in the cadenza, warily trying alien keys, then wisely backing down. But, almost secretly, the entire cadenza had become a crescendo in itself.

Mixed results from joint venture

Quadrille, City Contemporary Dance Company, APA Drama Theatre, February 20 MODERN dance is an art of new beginnings, a concept that was brought home by the City Contemporary Dance Company's programme for the Arts Festival. Four new works were created by the collaborative efforts of four local choreographers and composers and appropriately titled Quadrille.
