NTT unit completes purchase of HKNet

NTT Communications has bought the 21 per cent stake it did not already own in SAR subsidiary HKNet at a much lower price than previous share purchases.

The acquisition by the Japanese firm will help the transition of HKNet from a Hong Kong Internet services provider into NTT's Greater China hub for broader telecommunications and Internet services.

Aeon links with HKNet

Consumer finance firm Aeon Credit Service and Internet provider HKNet have jointly launched a credit card offering card-holders special rates for Internet and international direct dial (IDD) services.

Aeon director Naruhito Kuroda said he believed the new card could attract 30,000 users within three months.
