A JUNIOR officer who caused the military embarrassment by confiscating film during a press visit to nuclear submarine HMS Trenchant is unlikely to face disciplinary action.

The decision follows an investigation by senior officers.

Navy says sorry after film seizure puts PR efforts into a dive

THE Royal Navy is to hold an investigation into attempts to censor press photographs during a public relations visit to nuclear attack submarine HMS Trenchant, which arrived in Hong Kong yesterday.

The Navy has made a full apology following the incident, during which a junior officer confiscated film and video tape from the media.

Fishermen wary as UK sub slips in

BRITISH nuclear submarine HMS Trenchant will berth in Hong Kong this morning to take part in the 50th anniversary celebrations of Liberation Day - the first such vessel to visit the territory in three years.

The Trafalgar class fleet submarine will sail through the Lamma Channel early this morning accompanied by support vessel Diligence of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary.
