Nurse in Duchess of Cambridge hoax was found hanging, inquest hears

An inquest into the apparent suicide of a nurse duped by a hoax call from Australian DJs about the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge heard yesterday that she was found hanging in her room, had wrist injuries and left three notes.

Kidnap fiasco at Ocean Park

A young boy becoming separated from his mother at Ocean Park for a few minutes turned into a fiasco with a viral e-mail which sent parents into a panic.

On February 21 a young expat boy was separated from his mother. He was found by staff with two Chinese women next to him.

Later the boy said to his mother: 'Ocean Park bad. Two women took me away from mum.'

What a tangled Web they weave

The Penny Brown e-mail is one of at least 19 categories of 'sympathy hoax' chain e-mails that prey on the compassion of others, says a United States federal agency which tracks viruses and junk mails on the Internet.

Hoaxbusters, a service run by the US Department of Energy, said the e-mails generally asked people to forward the message, send help or make a wish.

Hoax callers to 999 operators have been caught by a new number-display system.

Callers' numbers flash up on operators' consoles, enabling officers to call them back, check on their safety and advise them.
