The folk of a remote village in Shanxi province cannot believe their luck. A man from Guangdong has been round the village buying up the old elm wood rice measurers. Glad to be rid of the heavy buckets, they happily accepted money for the 150-year-old rice containers.

Survey on shopping

The Urban Council will survey shopping habits in Central to see where the new Central Market should be located. A council sub-group declined to make a decision on the new site. The Government has proposed four possible locations: Hollywood Road, Sam Ka Lane, a site close to the Mid-Levels escalator, and the existing site in Queen's Road Central.
