More than 300 exhibitors and 6,000 visitors descended on Bangkok for the annual furniture fair at the beginning of March. I would like to respond to his point about comparison with 'the rest of the workforce . . . such as toilet cleaners, who do not earn much more than maids, and yet work much longer hours'.

Clothes-drying rack saves suicidal man

A clothes-drying rack saved the life of an apparently suicidal man who plunged from the window of his 14th-floor flat in Lam Tin.

The 23-year-old hit and broke a third-floor drying rack before landing on the first-floor canopy at Tak Lung House, Tak Tin Estate, at about 11.30pm on Wednesday. He was in serious condition last night.
