Hong Kong brand expo opens with HK$1 treats to lure shoppers

The 47th Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo opens today in Victoria Park, Causeway Bay, with exhibitors saying they are optimistic about trade.

They expect shoppers to be tempted by the many food items on offer for just HK$1.

Demand for delicacies fuels surge in expo sales

Hongkongers' enthusiasm for abalone and other delicacies, bolstered by the government's HK$6,000 handouts, helped spur a 20 per cent surge in sales at last year's Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo.

Sales reached more than HK$600 million at the annual expo at Victoria Park, which ended yesterday.

Park fair opens with mini heaters a likely hot item

To lure people outdoors, exhibitors will provide warm food and heaters as the Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo kicks off today.

The expo, featuring 880 booths and 400 exhibitors, runs until January 2 at Victoria Park. Apart from the usual bargains, heaters may become a hit item, with the temperature dipping to 12 degrees Celsius today.

Shoppers get ready to give inflation the boot

Organisers of this year's Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo expect the bargain hunters to be out in force as they try to beat inflation.

HK brands on show in Shanghai

Some of Hong Kong's most famous brands will be displayed in Shanghai when an annual products expo crosses the border for the first time.

Household names such as HSBC, Lee Kum Kee, Lam Soon, and Emperor International Exchange will be represented at the 2004 Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo from September 2 to 5 at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre.

MACWORLD Expo Hong Kong will move to the seventh floor of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre this year, where it will be held for three days from November 2 to 4.

The premiere event for the Macintosh platform has moved to accommodate more people this year, sources said. There will be daily auctions of Macintosh hardware and software products.
