Singapore has better environment

I share Bernard Chan's view that Hong Kong is underachieving in terms of the quality of life ('Why does Hong Kong put up with a so-so quality of life?', May 4).

Hong Kong has been my home for 20 years and, to this day, the only thing I complain about is the environment (I use the term in the broad sense).

The opening of Grizzly Gulch at Hong Kong Disneyland this summer will give meetings. incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) event organisers another corporate option.

Sections of the park can be 'bought' for special events and the entire park can be taken over after it closes.

Car park spaces are public asset

I refer to the report ('Cheung Kong Center loses supermarket bid', November 22).

I find it incredible that the Transport Department could support the company's proposal to take private possession of 78 of the 800 public car-parking spaces that were a special condition imposed on this centrally located redevelopment in 1996.

Rudolf Muller is the executive chef of the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, and a notably active member of the Hong Kong Chefs Association, of which he is a past president. A Swiss national born in Lucerne, he has used his talents as a chef and manager as a way to see the world.

Disney charity's HK$1m helps families

Nine local charities will share in HK$1million given to run child development projects that improve family relationships, thanks to the Walt Disney Company and its Disney Children's Fund.

Since the fund was set up in 2008 it has given HK$3 million to help more than 50,000 children.

'Toy Story' comes alive
