No decision yet on Cheung Kong Centre

Members of the Town Planning Board did not reach a conclusion yesterday on whether the land housing Li Ka-shing's Cheung Kong Holdings' headquarters should be rezoned as a commercial area.

Cheung Kong, Hutchison gain approval for Quarry Bay project

Cheung Kong (Holdings) and Hutchison Whampoa have secured Buildings Department approval for plans to jointly develop a commercial-hotel project in Quarry Bay.

The project will comprise a 31-storey office tower and a 32-storey hotel over two basement levels at 661-665 King's Road, with a total floor area of 561,070 square feet.

Cathedral fears damage from Hilton Hotel redevelopment

THE proposed redevelopment of the Hong Kong Hilton in Central into an office and hotel complex has raised concerns that nearby St John's Cathedral could be damaged.

The Dean of St John's, the Very Reverend Christopher Phillips, said he would be keeping a sharp eye on the proposed redevelopment by the Cheung Kong group.
