Award-winning film explores the 'real riches' of city

After winning awards in Berlin, France and Istanbul, director Mo Lai Yan-chi is bringing her short film 1+1 back to the city that inspired the story.

Lai, born and bred in Hong Kong, said the film was inspired by the recent demolition of Tsoi Yuen Tsuen for construction of the high-speed rail link to Guangzhou.

A second helipad has been added to the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal's inner pier, as a company running an air link between the two cities positions itself to reap the opportunities that arise as Pear River Delta transport links grow.

Sky Shuttle - formerly known as Heli Express - is also refurbishing the lounge at the Macau Heliport, which it hopes to finish early next year.

Dead pigeon tests positive

A dead pigeon found in Tuen Mun on Monday had tested positive for the H5 virus, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department said last night. A spokesman said there were no poultry farms within 3km of where the dead bird was found. Poultry farmers were reminded to strengthen biosecurity measures.

Then my family moved back to Britain, where I grew up in the Wirral [peninsula in England's northwest]. After studying design in college, I returned to Hong Kong at 22 for a visit.
