Developing a $100 million nine-hole golf course at Chek Lap Kok Airport has turned out to be a cost-saving measure for the Airport Authority.

Located to the east of the passenger terminal, Skycity Nine Eagles Golf Course is scheduled to open towards the end of the year.

Flood of fairs at new exhibition centre tipped to deliver $4b bonanza

A packed calendar of about 30 trade fairs next year at the city's newest exhibition centre is expected to generate more than $4 billion for Hong Kong, its managers say.

One event alone, ITU Telecom World, will bring more than 100,000 visitors to the city, said Helen Chiu, chief commercial officer at the new centre, AsiaWorld-Expo at Chek Lap Kok.

January start for expo site

The AsiaWorld-Expo at Chek Lap Kok will open in January, just as the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Building in Wan Chai undergoes renovations to expand its atrium.

A Hong Kong Spring Fair, operated by Kenfair International (Holdings), which stages a major toy and gift show at the Wan Chai venue each October, will be the debut trade fair at the new venue.
