Public think police abuse power: poll

Fifty per cent of people believe police officers have taken advantage of their position, a survey of the force has revealed.

The unprecedented image survey conducted by Hong Kong University on behalf of the force also found 27 per cent of the 1,547 respondents thought officers were not prudent in their private lives.

Legco ratings remain shaky

Most people believe Legco has failed to keep the Government in check.

And about 46 per cent have no confidence the lawmakers can represent their interests, according to a Hong Kong University poll released yesterday.

Legislators' performance ratings have been persistently low in the series of polls since last August.
