Researchers at Hong Kong University trying to find a Hong Kong super-chicken will expand their techniques to conserve other species, such as endangered animals.

And the work could reproduce 'ancestor' chickens with even better taste and texture than the currently sought-after native Chinese birds, they said at a presentation of the project yesterday.

Student burnt

A SCIENCE student suffered burns to his hands in a fire on a staircase at Hong Kong University last night. The blaze, caused by the burning of about 10 grams of sodium metal, activated the sprinkler systems on the sixth-floor staircase of the Chong Yuet Ming Building. Ko Po-hung, 25, was taken to hospital by fellow students and was in satisfactory condition last night.

IN yesterday's Campus Post, we stated that Professor Rudolf Wu Shiu-sun taught at Hong Kong University. In fact, he is at City University. The ecotoxicology conference we said would be held at Hong Kong University from January 22 to 25 will be held at City University.
