HKU women rowers end CU run in varsity race

CHINESE University retained the men's trophy in the annual Intervarsity Rowing Championship on the Shing Mun River, but Hong Kong University broke their three-year dominance by winning the women's race.

The CU rowers had won both the men's coxed eights and women's coxed fours for three years running, but this time their women's crew failed to extend their winning streak.

Notices markedly different

SINCE May, customers have not had to put their bags on a shelf before they can go into Swindon Bookstores, in Hong Kong University.

On the door of the bookstore, there is a Chinese notice.

It says that the shop assistants keep a good lookout for shoplifters and it advises customers to take care of their own property.
