Legislators have agreed to go ahead with a vote next week on the government's revised funding request.

Lawmakers agree to set up subcommittee

Legislators have agreed to set up a subcommittee on improving air quality. A resolution was passed by members at an Environmental Affairs Panel meeting yesterday to propose the new subcommittee, which has to be endorsed by the House Committee. The proposal was raised by Democrats legislator Andrew Cheng Kar-foo and supported by four other panel members.

Right to reject bills reserved

Provisional legislators yesterday reserved the right to vote down bills they did not consider indispensable.

House Committee members earlier questioned if some of the 19 bills the administration were due to table fell within that category.
