Duty Free heiress big on bargains

Spotted in Central over the weekend was Marie-Chantal Miller, daughter of Duty Free Shop tycoon Robert Miller. But the wife of Prince Pavlos of Greece was not cruising through The Landmark, or Chater House. A CitySeen reader wrote in saying that she was browsing through the bargain lanes, buying bits and bobs for her children who were with her. The cost of these knick-knacks - all under $20.

Danish princess riding high on royal award

Well, Princess Alexandra of Denmark - the closest Hong Kong has come to royalty - has gone and got herself an elephant.

In fact, the princess - formerly Alexandra Manley of Discovery Bay - is only the second woman in history after Queen Margrethe to own one.

Royal family aids Olympic efforts

NORWAY, like Britain, has a constitutional monarchy.

The present head of the Norwegian royal family is King Harald V, who succeeded his late father, King Olav V, to the throne on January 17, 1991.

He was born in 1937 at Skaugum, the estate just outside the Norwegian capital, Oslo, which is still the home of the royal family.
