Sunlord Chemical Group has secured a 40 million yuan (about HK$37.48 million) contract to provide about 1,500 tonnes of anti-corrosive coating for drinking water pipes to Dongjiang Water Supply System next year. The company will also invest 20 million yuan for a 60 per cent stake in a Huludao City venture.

Exclusive city gas rights

Huludao Xinao Gas, a subsidiary of Growth Enterprise Market-listed Xinao Gas Holdings, has obtained the exclusive rights to develop and operate a piped natural gas business in Xingcheng city, Liaoning province, for 30 years. The parent said the total investment would be 33 million yuan (about HK$31.5 million).

PBOC purchases gold

Australian precious metals technology group Geo2 said yesterday an initial 578 ounces of gold that poured from its joint-venture refinery project in northeastern Liaoning province had been sold to the People's Bank of China. The Australian firm holds a 51 per cent interest in HuluDao China Australian Gold Refinement, which owns the Shui Quang refinery.

Zinc sales boost

Huludao Zinc Smelter posted net profits of 119.77 million yuan (about HK$111.29 million) in the first eight months of this year, the China Economic Herald reports. It gave no comparative figure. Sales for the smelter, including its unit Huludao Zinc Industry, hit 2.51 billion yuan in the period, up 18.6 per cent year-on-year.
