Moving policy goal-posts

I HAVE noted from your report by Stella Lee in the South China Morning Post, of October 11, that the formula for calculating recurrent subsidies for schools run by the English Schools Foundation (ESF), will be brought into line with that for the local aided schools, resulting in a cut in the grants to achieve closer parity with the local schools.

I HAVE lived all my life in Hong Kong and felt proud to be a citizen of Hong Kong.

Tutors a remedy

I WRITE in response to Ray Cheng's 'No best remedy' (Young Post , August 27), regarding students who take remedial classes after school.

Ray Cheng thinks it is unnecessary for students to take remedial classes after school simply because their teachers are not good enough. I have a different point of view.

So congested

I HAVE lived in Tsing Yi for three years and I enjoy it. There are tennis courts, indoor recreation halls, shopping centres, restaurants and even cinemas.
