Felix Wong Kim-fei gets tired of being asked to name the best coffee in the world. 'It's like asking someone to name the most beautiful woman in the world. There is no correct answer. It's a matter of personal taste, and developing good taste goes beyond shallow understanding,' says the director of the two-year-old Cafe Corridor.

The food

My Coffee is where the interview took place. The cafe, which opened at Ashley Road, Tsim Sha Shui about 10 years ago, is popular among university students and artists. Besides its coffee, the restaurant is also famous for its decor and unlimited supply of foreign magazines.

Coffee's big comeback

Coffee shops seem to have suddenly sprung up in our streets and shopping malls like mushrooms. Where have they come from? In Yorkshire where I live, you can't walk a block without smelling the wafting aroma of brewing coffee. How did we manage before these cosy, friendly drinking establishments invited us to quench our thirst with their steaming brews?
