No money for new NT school

ESF chief executive Heather Du Quesnay says she would like to see one more school opened in the New Territories but the foundation does not have the money.

Ms Du Quesnay told parents on Thursday there was rising demand in the area. 'That's what I personally would like to see but we don't have the money ... we've got other demands.'

School debentures trade must be more transparent

The debentures parents buy to jump the queue for places in Hong Kong's international schools are for sale to the highest bidder. It is a trade on which some light badly needs throwing. The schools that allow parents whose children have graduated to resell their debentures to new parents often do not control the transactions or, more importantly, disclose their value.
