David Stern can rest easy now, because the last championship series he will preside over as commissioner won't be the ratings bust that a Spurs-Pacers final would have been. Miami and San Antonio is about as good as the league could have hoped for.

LeBron James' 'The Look' inspires Heat to beat Pacers 90-79

LeBron James said a few words at half-time to try and coax something more out of the Miami Heat. Turns out, whatever he said was unnecessary. The look on his face was all the Heat needed.

The Indiana Pacers did not see this version of Udonis Haslem coming. There was no reason to.

Haslem, a veteran forward who had scored in single digits in six of his previous seven play-off games, finished with 17 points on 8-for-9 shooting to help the Miami Heat beat the Pacers 114-96 in game three of the Eastern Conference finals.

David West was more than a little disappointed when the Indiana Pacers failed to make a defensive play at the end to win game one of the Eastern Conference finals. So in game two, he made those plays himself. Twice, in fact.

Indiana Pacers confident of beating Miami Heat in game two

Frank Vogel

Losing a game at the final buzzer, no less than a play-off game on the road against the reigning NBA champions Miami Heat, would seem to have potential to demoralise the Indiana Pacers.

Or not. "Our belief," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said, "has strengthened."

LeBron James made a buzzer-beating lay-up in overtime as the Heat narrowly escaped a shock loss on their home court and beat the Indiana Pacers 103-102 in the opening game of the NBA Eastern Conference finals.

Miami-Pacers confrontation should be a far cry from 2012 encounter

LeBron James, Miami Heat

Erik Spoelstra, mad chemist that he is, started Dexter Pittman in game three of the 2012 Eastern Conference semi-finals against the Pacers. Predictably, that lab experiment blew up in Spoelstra's face like the unstable concoction it was, and, if memory serves, set off a chain reaction of panic that left many wondering whether the Heat's grand gamble was doomed.

NBA lockout is no big deal

Oh yeah, the NBA lockout. I kind of forgot the league has officially been shut down for over two months with no end in sight. But I'm not alone, it seems, considering that players and management met this week for only the second time since the lockout began 62 days ago. Think about that for a minute.

Sink the NBA post-season blues

Basketball fans may be feeling a little bored these days. Game spoiled

I want to commend ATV for bringing the NBA playoffs to Hong Kong. This seems to be an excellent opportunity to win the kudos of many local sports fans who have been alienated by Star TV's casual approach to NBA programming.
