My colleagues and I at the Harbour School appreciate the Education Bureau's efforts to address the shortage of international school placements in Hong Kong through the recent allocation exercise of four redundant school sites.

Tin Hau school first to adopt official Montessori education

Montessori kindergartens are common across Hong Kong but there is only one primary school using the internationally adopted teaching approach.

The International Montessori School in Tin Hau recently became only the second accredited primary school in Asia. The other one is in Japan.

Parents fight school relocation

A group of parents say the government is dragging its feet in resolving a situation that could see an international school evicted to make way for a youth hostel.

They said that if the authorities did not intervene, the International Montessori School would be asked to move for the fourth time in a decade, which they described as destructive for their children.
