Achievements: Lorraine, 14, took part in the World Junior Tennis 2006 in Indonesia in May last year, where the Hong Kong team finished 12th. She also played in the East Asian Championship for 14 and under in Thailand in March.

Tennis juniors to take on the world

Hong Kong's tennis juniors take on some of the world's top young talent in the Hong Kong Open Junior Championships starting on Saturday at the Sports Institute in Sha Tin.

The competition, held until October 19, is part of the on going annual ITF Junior Circuit which sees top international under-18 players compete for world-ranking points.

Hong Kong's Davis Cup tie with Lebanon, one of the casualties of the pneumonia outbreak, will be rescheduled, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) has ruled. The Asia-Oceania Zone Group II second-round tie, originally scheduled from April 4-6 at Victoria Park, was called off after the Lebanese cancelled their hotel bookings.
