Ulzhorshikh put his country on the map by taking the bronze medal in the Ipoh event to stake his claim on the second running of the six-leg Tour.

HK pair run out of steam

HONG Kong's Chan Lung and Man Wai-chung finished well down the field in the 112-kilometre Asian Championships junior road race in Ipoh, Malaysia, yesterday.

Chan and eight other competitors broke away in the second lap but they were caught by the main group at about the 85-kilometre mark. Kazakhstan's Titov Vaieizi won the gold medal in 2:45:47.82.
