Swire's decade of stamina set to pay off at Taikoo Hui

After a decade's delay, Swire Properties' first project in Guangdong province, Taikoo Hui, is heading towards completion.

Located in Guangdong's capital of Guangzhou, it is the company's first mixed-use project on the mainland to be developed by Swire itself and will be declared open by the end of September and fully operational next year.

Swire 'culture minister' a driving force for the arts

Selling stocks and real estate can be easier than selling a ticket to a Shakespeare drama in a financially driven city like Hong Kong.

Let's face it, Hongkongers would rather spend time watching a comedy or attending a stock market outlook seminar than listening to the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HKPO) play Mozart.

Should the government buy back the outlying-island ferry services?

There is some dispute about whether or not the government should buy back the ferry services. I support this proposal.

If this proposal is implemented, island residents could look forward to cheaper fares, which is important because they depend on the ferry to commute to and from work.
