Firms have begun to shake off the effects of the financial turmoil by hiring more workers this year, a survey has found.

The study on staff planning found that 60 companies said they had expanded their staff size during the first 10 months of the year while nine claimed to have excessive staff over the same period. The average level of workforce expansion was 2.7 per cent.
