Asian Cup to showcase top players in Hong Kong

The Asian Cup will feature the top 16 men's and women's singles players in the region, who will be vying for US$100,000 in prize money. Each country will be allowed to send a maximum of two players in each category.

Doubles win a Games fillip for HK

Hong Kong's Tang Peng and Jiang Tianyi received a boost ahead of the Asian Games, winning the men's doubles title at the Austrian Open on Sunday. They beat Jeong Sang-eun and Ryu Seung-min of South Korea 11-3, 9-11, 11-9, 11-7, 11-9 in their first Pro Tour final since arriving in Hong Kong in 2005.

HK's Jiang and Cheung near Pro Tour Finals

Jiang Tianyi and Cheung Yuk strengthened their chances of reaching the Pro Tour Finals after finishing in the top four at the German Open. The top 16 men's singles players will be eligible for the US$300,000 finals in Macau from December 11 to 14. Going into the German Open, Jiang was ranked 11th and Cheung 17th.
