Quirky prints

Floral prints are a perennial spring-summer favourite. This time around, however, designers are changing things and adding some eccentric motifs to their collections. British designer and queen of prints Mary Katrantzou featured digital reproductions of tropical fish to her sculpted dresses, while Dolce & Gabbana chose zucchini, eggplant and tomato to add flavour to its spring gowns.

If a government car is fined for illegal parking, who pays?

We were troubled to receive the photograph that appears in today's column. The car is a Volkswagen Phaeton with the registration AM13, which means it is a government car. It is clearly parked illegally next to a sign which indicates no stopping at any time.

Animal prints

Take a walk on the wild side as animal prints, a perennial autumn favourite, reappear this season. Some designers are experimenting with animal motifs, such as panther (at Givenchy) and snakeskin prints (at Chloe). The tried-and-tested favourite, however, remains the leopard print, as spotted on the runway of Dolce & Gabbana.
