Solargiga Energy in deal to buy Sino Light

The share price of silicon solar ingots and wafers maker Solargiga Energy Holdings' jumped 5.5 per cent to HK$1.91 after it announced it would buy from its major shareholders all of solar-cells maker Sino Light for HK$835.2 million.

Anti-graft officer falls to his death

A senior anti-graft official with Liaoning's Jinzhou Railway Procuratorate fell to his death from his fifth-floor home on Monday night.

The procuratorate confirmed the deputy director of its anti-graft bureau had died, but refused to disclose further information.

No accounting for cheek in Jinzhou plea

Shanghai-listed Jinzhou Port is charting an unusual course through a disclaimer from auditor KPMG.

The company failed to get a clean bill of health from the big-four accountant recently because of insufficient evidence and information.

Instead, KPMG recommended major revisions that would reduce its net earnings to a small profit or even a loss.

KPMG calls for change to port group's report

KPMG has suggested major revisions to Jinzhou Port's pending annual report after being sued by a mainland investor over previous accounts of the Shanghai-listed company.

The suggested changes would reduce Jinzhou Port's net earnings last year to a small profit or even a loss, the Liaoning-based port operator warned in an announcement yesterday.
