FLIRTING Dancer (Nap) should be very hard to beat in this afternoon's final event on Chairman's Prize day at Sha Tin.
The sprint championship meeting was always one of my favourites but at this time of year finding winners can be decidedly tricky.Saturday, 7 May, 1994, 12:00am
THOSE International Cup heroes John Moore and Johnny Marshall did us a favour with Win Label at the last equitrack meeting and they can do us another in tonight's opening event on the Valley dirt with Fit For Royalty.
It is hard to imagine that Fit For Royalty will not dominate this opening Class Four 1,400-metre event.5 Jan 1994 - 12:00am
THE Lawrie Fownes-trained Rock 'N Reel appears to have progressed really well in his work since his gallant second to Winsome Fellow last time out and was looking very well in himself yesterday morning at Sha Tin.
Fownes did not ask him to run time or anything like that, instead Rock 'N Reel just came home in a steady 25.9 seconds for his final quarter.14 Dec 1993 - 12:00am
JOHN Moore, the triple champion trainer, can continue his great season by taking tonight's fifth event at Happy Valley with Send A Signal (Nap).
This horse has taken time to acclimatise but he now looks to be working out of his skin and to me it looks very significant that the admirable Johnny Marshall takes over the riding from stable apprentice Victor Chan.8 Dec 1993 - 12:00am
SUPER Falcon (Nap), who was punched out hands and heels to the line when a good second to Chiu Chow Warrior last time out, looks the day's best bet at Sha Tin this afternoon.
He ran on really strongly and now has the added advantage of Johnny Marshall's taking over the riding.28 Nov 1993 - 12:00am
EVER THE BEST (Nap) should be that much fitter for his opening run of the season and looks to have been found an ideal opportunity by trainer John Moore in today's fourth event.
The five-year-old appears to have improved significantly from last season when troubled by that dreaded flu virus.28 Nov 1993 - 12:00am
RED STAR went firmly into the memory banks as a likely future winner following an ideal barrier trial win in the second of two 1,150-metre heats on the all-weather track at Sha Tin yesterday.
Chris Cheung Ting-pong's gelding was re-united with Johnny Marshall, with whom he got on so well last season, and it would have been hard to imagine a more impressive display.9 Oct 1993 - 12:00am
CLUB jockey Johnny Marshall looks the man to follow at Happy Valley tonight with the former Sydney champion finally going into a meeting with a quality book of rides to match his skill in the saddle.19 May 1993 - 12:00am
CLUB Jockey Johnny Marshall can get back among the winners with Clever Witness from the in-form Geoff Lane stable in the fifth event at Sha Tin this afternoon.13 Mar 1993 - 12:00am
CLUB Jockey Johnny Marshall can get Clever Witness, racing for the first time in about a year, was trapped wide all the way yet still managed to come through in the closing stages looking all over the winner.13 Mar 1993 - 12:00am
JOHNNY Marshall (above) looks to have a fine chance of ending one of the unluckiest sequences of seconds seen in local racing when he climbs aboard the Bruce Hutchison-trained Hankow Star in the last at Happy Valley tonight.20 Jan 1993 - 12:00am
