Colourful musical dazzles audience

The audience clapped and sang along as a group of young theatre-lovers gave an energetic performance of the famous musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The one-hour show last week was staged by participants of the 2004 summer school run by the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA).

The winner of the Grand Draw in the South China Morning Post's special promotion with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is Ms P. Vaswani of Mid-Levels.

The winning entry was drawn by cast member Les Dwight who plays Pharoah in the show, and Colin Kerr, senior assistant editor of the Post.

And for 50 all-singing, all-dancing students of Glenealy school, the dream did come true.

Best seats already gone

I am an avid fan of musical stage shows and I was ecstatic to learn that Andrew Lloyd Webber's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is coming to town this April.

Ticket sales for the month-long performance began on February 15, and I hurried along to an URBTIX outlet in Wan Chai, hoping that I would be lucky enough to get good seats for the show.
