Four track stars received prestigious awards at the 47th annual prize presentation and dinner organised by the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association (HKAAA) last Thursday.

Tang Yik-chun (senior men), Wan Kin-yee (senior women), Lai Chun-ho (junior men) and Leung Hau-sze (junior women) were named Athletes of the Year 2006 in recognition of their outstanding efforts last year.

Second seeds shine at Lions

Second seed Kevin Wong Chun-hun got his revenge early when he defeated top seed Martin Lee at the Lions Hong Kong National Junior Tennis Championships 2007 held at Victoria Park.

Wong, last year's runner-up, defeated top seed Lee 6-1, 6-3 to snatch the boys' under-12 singles title.

An ideal refuge from all the mayhem

The Sevens Village proved a welcome refuge from the madness of the stadium. And this year, a Toys 'R' Us games zone was set up for those dragging little ones along. 'We weren't sure they would like the rugby, so we brought them here first. Probably next year we'll take them there,' says Frenchman Alain Huy, whose five-year-old Leo and three-year-old Oscar were tearing up the playground.
