FOREIGN investors should establish export-oriented ventures in China to hedge against the sliding yuan, according to a management consultant.

Speaking to members of the Institute of Directors, Yeung Kwok-ki said businessmen should seek openings for exports of quality China-made products, instead of relying on the huge internal market.

THE Chinese Communist Party has given a warning to cadres who harbour resentment against the recent spate of reshuffles in administrations.

The New China News Agency yesterday quoted a source in the party's Organisation Department, which is in charge of personnel matters, as telling cadres affected by the changes to adopt a ''correct'' attitude towards the reshuffles.

Passport racket warning

FOREIGN passports are being purchased by Chinese nationals to fake their identities to enjoy preferential policies for overseas investors, the Ministry of Public Security has warned.

A ministry official said some Chinese citizens had been found using overseas passports to engage in investment or other business activities in China in the guise of foreign businessmen.
