A blur of hands and feet

First things first: I want to make it clear that I'm not a violent person. I've never been in a fight before, not even with my little brother. The only fighting I ever do involves video game characters and button mashing.

Just for kicks

When players boot the ball in the stadium this weekend they will be wearing proper kit on the field. But now people dressed as penguins, black swans, SpongeBobs and Pink Panthers can have a kick, too.

That's because of a virtual sport video game giving everyone a chance to sit atop the points-scoring leaderboard like Jonny Wilkinson, Dan Carter, Matt Burke and Hugo Porta.

You might use the phrase when talking about a bad film in which a character finally dies after several close shaves. 'Has he finally kicked the bucket? About time, too!'
