Taxis, truck in collision

Two taxi drivers were injured in a three-vehicle collision in Kowloon Tong yesterday. The accident happened as the two taxis and a truck were travelling along Waterloo Road at about 5.20am. The taxi drivers were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. All three drivers passed breathalyser tests.

Paramedics help deliver baby in taxi

A mainland woman gave birth to a son in a taxi in Kowloon Tong shortly after arriving from Shenzhen yesterday. The woman, 26, crossed the border with her sister, 27, yesterday morning and started to feel labour pains on the way to St Teresa's Hospital in Kowloon City. The driver pulled over in Cornwall Street and called police shortly after 10am.

Man's leap onto KCR tracks prompts call for screen doors

KCRC services were delayed by up to 20 minutes yesterday after a man jumped onto the track at Kowloon Tong station as a Lowu-bound train was approaching.

The 48-year-old man, surnamed Yim, was taken in an ambulance to Caritas Hospital in a satisfactory condition.

Surely the key element in a market economy and the idea of independent civil liberties is the concept of choice. A smoker who chooses to smoke next to a non-smoker is denying that person the choice of whether to inhale second-hand smoke.
