Mum left son home alone to go gambling

A mother who left her four-year-old son alone at home to go gambling in Macau was put on 12 months' probation yesterday.

Cheung Kwai-mui, a 40-year-old housewife, went to Macau when her four-year-old son was asleep at home on the Shek Yam Estate, Kwai Tsing, last month. The boy called police when he woke up the next morning and found his mother was absent.

Triad ketamine haul worth HK$10m seized

Police seized 93kg of drugs and chemical additives - enough to produce HK$10 million worth of ketamine - in a raid on a subdivided flat in Sham Shui Po.

Officers later arrested two suspected members of the Wo Shing Wo triad, and one woman, at their Kwai Chung homes in Wednesday's operation. Police were still looking for at least three other suspects in the case last night.
