Parents arrested after son's fall

The parents of a two-year-old boy were arrested after their son fell from their home in Sai Wan Ho. The mother, named Guo, 32, and the father, Kwan, 36, were granted bail. They were charged with negligence and child abuse and must report to police on December 14. A security guard found the boy on Thursday night.

Who is he? Tino Kwan is a Hong Kong-born lighting designer with a studio in Tin Hau. His team has designed lighting schemes for luxury retail and hospitality projects across the world, from Fendi and Armani boutiques to the Peninsula hotel brand. Heartfelt thanks for modest hero

A 68-year-old man who helped a mother and daughter escape from their blazing flat received a commendation from the fire services department yesterday - along with renewed heartfelt thanks from the rescued woman.

Retired worker Kwan Tim-on threw a nylon rope to Ko Tim-hing and her daughter as they clung screaming to the windowsills of their Shamshuipo flat.
