Tired Exco needs new members

Now that the chief executive has announced he plans to be pro- active in government throughout his last months in office, we can all reasonably expect him to take firm action. He could start by getting rid of the dead wood on his overpopulated 29-seat Executive Council.

Mass development at Tung O will change the entire nature of Lamma

The current application for rezoning and development of land in the vicinity of Tung O on Lamma is just the start of the destruction of the remnants of our eco-culture and green environment.

Lamma's Bobsy ready to shed long locks for charity in Nepal

If the various family events, arts and craft stalls, beach volleyball tournament, music and tasty food incentives are not compelling enough for you to attend Sunday's Lamma Fun Day, perhaps the opportunity to see Life Cafe's perennial hippie Bobsy Jureidini (known simply as Bobsy to everyone) get his long locks shorn is an incentive.

The summer holidays are coming to an end. It's time to dig out your school shoes and check you've done your homework. But that's not all one group of teenagers has to do before term starts.

Graduating from the 2007 Summer Workshop organised by the Young Friends of Hong Kong Arts Festival (YFS), the group is going to show off their stage skills in 2007 My Summer Show.

I wonder why Telegraph Bay has been chosen as the preferred site when there are far more appropriate locations available as demonstrated by several correspondents. Where is the logic in siting an industrial development in the heart of a residential area?

Planning decisions disconnect people from nature

As a resident of Pokfulam, overlooking the Lamma Channel, I noticed that in recent months several barges have been piling off the Sandy Bay foreshore. With horror we discovered that a new expressway is to be constructed on the waterfront. What on Earth is driving these ludicrous decisions?
